In the years 2000 to 2004, our choir group helped out at a fund-raising event, Street Scenes, for Carmel High School in Mundelein, IL. We presented a skit of songs and jokes. The songs used well-known tunes, with our own words. All of the choir members contributed ideas, songs and talent.

This is one that I wrote. It’s sung to the theme from the TV program “Rawhide!“. Every parent will recognize the action this song describes.

Keep movin’, movin’, movin’, though they’re disapprovin’
Keep them children movin’, Car Pool!
Don’t try to understand ’em,
Just load ’em, drive and land ’em.
Good thing the car just never died!
Our guts calculatin’,
Rolls and coffee waitin’
Waitin’ at the end of our ride!
